In the
450 class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Michael
Byrne finished the season in fourth place overall in the championship standings
and he finished the final race of the year with a sixth-place overall.
Australian Byrne had a great first moto, getting a
good start on his Rockstar Makita Suzuki RM-Z450 and
working his way up into third place. In the second moto,
Byrne struggled a bit and finished in ninth place.
Michael
Byrne:
“In
the first moto, I rode really well and was consistent
and had a great race. In the second moto, I got caught
up behind another rider and then got cross-rutted and went off the track and
crashed on my head, pretty much. So after that, I just tried to get up and
finish the moto. My bike was in bad shape and I was just
trying to get through it to the end.”
